More Updates From Tulsa

An anonymous board poster reported on a meeting in Tulsa that hypothesized that there might not be an expansion team in Tulsa, but a relocated one.

Relocation possibilities weren't identifed.
He only said that there were 2 teams in which that may be a possibility, but the chances are greater for expansion.

The translation (in my opinion) is that the guys in Tulsa are trying to swing a deal: "I know you want to sell, who can give me the best price?"

All I can say is that people better show up for that Dream/Sun game at Philips on September 11th.

I really don't know the ATL area well, but I thought your poll option of playing at Morehouse would be an interesting way to tap into the Spelman crowd... I don't know if there are a whole lot of basketball fans there...

But when you got a whole women's college there....

Make it an event, give the college students discounted tickets and give them a reason to fill the arena...

how big is the morehouse Arena?

It seats about 6,000, but you can squeeze just over 7,000 in there:

Forbes Arena at the Morehouse website.

There are billboards here and there, social networking, radio ads, limited newspaper coverage and there were commercials at some point but most people still don't know Atlanta has a pro womens basketball team. When I tell people we have a great team that plays at Philips they're surprised. There are ads for discounted tickets in coupon magazines but I think the DFO should try other methods of marketing. I like Club 13 and what they do, how about a younger "street team" to pass out fliers the month before the season starts? Discounts are great but they're only useful when people are informed of them.

I don't want the Dream to leave Atlanta. I think the team is good enough to get a larger continuous following here. I wonder if STHs will get special discounts to bring friends Sept 11? The quickest way to make a WNBA fan is for them to see a game in person

Morehouse is a pretty bad place to play, with zero ability to handle national TV and poor setup overall. Nothing against them, it is not a bad little college gym, but this is the WNBA playoffs not a high school playoff....

@ATLDreamFan17

We have a Street Team. They do exactly what you just said. The DFO attends lots of events to raise awareness and passes out coupons to get people to games.
