John Altavilla writes in the Hartford Courant about the first practices for the US Women's Team, which will play in the FIBA World Championships in 2010 and in the 2012 Summer Olympics.
Nothing about McCoughtry in the article, but Geno Auriemma had this to say:
"I also wanted them to understand that everyone here was someone I wanted, not just the UConn kids, but everyone. There is no one here against my wishes. There is no one here I am being forced to coach."
I suspect that Auriemma has wished he had McCoughtry for a long time after playing Louisville.
