McCoughtry Rookie of the Month for Two Months in a Row

It looks like Angel McCoughtry has defended her title and adds a Rookie of the Month award for August as well. (I wonder if Marynell Meadors will present it to her on-court during the September 11th game.)

From the WNBA.com press release:

Below are the highlights of McCoughtry’s outstanding month:

Aug. 1 vs. New York: Career-high seven steals and 16 points in an 89-83 win
Aug. 20 vs. San Antonio: Career-high 34 points in a 93-87 win
Aug. 23 vs. Los Angeles: 23 points, including 11-20 in field goals and five steals in a 91-87 loss
Aug. 25 vs. Sacramento: 20 points including 7-8 in free-throws in a 103-83 win

What's amazing about McCoughtry is that she doesn't care about personal statistics. McCoughtry states that the only number she cares about is whether Atlanta's score at the end is greater than that of the Dream's opponent.

I believe her.

UPDATE: Go to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution page here and click on the article "Dream's McCoughtry Captures WNBA Honor". The AJC counts every click and more clicks = more Dream coverage.

I can't emphasize it enough: Get there and click on that story.
