Pretty in Pink: Dream Wins 88-79 Over Storm
Tonight, we got the first win against the Storm in front of an announced crowd of almost 9,000. Let me tell you in case you missed it - the Crash Pad was jumping!
The win puts us in second place in the Eastern Conference, all by ourselves. Furthermore - we're tied for the third best record in the WNBA.
The Beast from Brazil. The Sainted One. Dizzy Izzy. Preacher's Kid. Shay-Lo. If they don't have nicknames, well, they oughta!
Who would have thunk it? We've come a long way, baby!!

Sometimes, I feel you are so mean when you refer to Izzy castro masquez. This nickname is a titlle too much. why did not you give a nickname to Holdsclaw? For the last three games she has been a kind of lost....shooting and shooting...but not hitting the basket at all as she used to be.
I love Atlanta Dream...and I feel the team itself has been working hard to find its identity in the wnba...the players are very good, but by in large, they are not perfect at all. They're really working together for the team as a whole. Izzy has a part of this great campaign. She was not that good tonight, but she was not that only one!!!!
I think I chose Dizzy Izzy because "Dizzy" was the only word I could think of that rhymed with "Izzy".
I'll have to think harder for a better nickname for Castro Marques. (Castro Marques is actually shooting better than her WNBA career average.)
But yes, the Dream is proving to be more than the total of its pieces.

Great game. A W against Seattle is huge. I am a fan of LJ and Bird but the Dream is my team and they held it together. The atmosphere in Philips was great. Of course there were things that need to be tweeked (Izzy should handle the ball less, Shalee has to work on D, Angel has to work on court vision- to name a few) but the team is doing very well overall. From worst almost to first, good stuff.
One thing I notice every game is that when Mique is on the floor she runs things and when she's on the bench she's basically an assistant coach in uniform. At one point during the Seattle game Coco was bringing the ball down the court and Mique was the one on the bench coaching her on what to do. Its obvious she was signed for much more than her playing ability.
As far as nicknames go, Big Smooth is the only "official" one so 10 more are needed. Feel free to throw some others around Pt. Hmm, maybe all the fans should get in on it.
It appeared to be a fantastic game - sure wish I could have been there, but dang it's a long way from Kansas! Shalee had lots of family there so I'm glad she had a decent game. I loved the way Angel was on fire defensively then finished with some great shots. She is still a bit rough around the edges but seems to get better all the time. Can't wait to see more of Price - it looks like she may really have a lot to offer the Dream.
Rogerio - I don't think the author of the blog intends for the nicknames to be insulting at all even though some could be seen that way. I think "Dizzy Izzy" is kind of cute and it fits for those times when it seems like she is always on the go, running from one spot on the court to another. I'd enjoy having a fun nickname for Shalee. Some of us have called her Sha-Sha which was started by her niece, but I'd like something else so that the niece can have Sha-Sha all to herself.
