Jambi the Genie says....

Jambi the Genie has gone an unimpressive 16-14 in WNBA picks this year. If Jambi can't score at least a 4-2 for Thursday night, Jambi will be unceremonially retired and dumped among the wreckage of Peewee's Playhouse. Mekka Lekka Hi, indeed.

Fever @ Liberty. The Liberty's woes continue with Katie Douglas scoring 28 in MSG. Indiana 83, New York 60.

Sun @ Shock. The Shock beat the Sun at home, so no advantage is gained. Detroit 73, Connecticut 62.

Monarchs @ Lynx. The Lynx have to work hard for their win, but they'll get back on the right track. Lynx 69, Monarchs 66.

Silver Stars @ Comets. I'm sorry, Hammonites. Tina Thompson has your number. Houston 81, San Antonio 75.

Mercury @ Sky. The Sky slow down Phoenix and grab an amazing Win. Chicago 72, Phoenix 69.

Mystics @ Sparks. Candace Parker might just throw down another dunk. Los Angeles 92, Washington 71.

(Jambi is on loan from NationalSportsRankings.com.)

UPDATE: Tina Thompson has just been downgraded to "inactive" for the Silver Stars/Comets game. Jambi is skating over thin ice right now.

Jambi the Genie Says....

Jambi the Genie has gone 13-11 this year (with the help of nationalsportsrankings.com). This may be his last chance before we lock his box!

Lynx @ Shock. The Lynx shoot over fifty percent from the field. Minnesota 91, Shock 79.

Sparks @ Silver Stars. Candace Parker gets another triple-double. Los Angeles 95, San Antonio 86.

Sky @ Mercury. Cappie and Diana lead the way to another win by the defending champions. Phoenix 70, Sky 53.

Sun @ Monarchs. After their walloping by the Mercury, the Sun find their bearings quickly. Connecticut 82, Sacramento 67.

Fever @ Storm. The Fever get an amazing victory in the final minute in a classic game. Indiana 69, Seattle 67.

Jambi the Genie Says....

Probably the last post of the day. We call upon the powers of Jambi the Genie to show us the way tonight. Spare the Dream, oh Jambi!

Monarchs @ Mystics: the Mystics shoot over 50 percent for a home win. Washington 71, Sacramento 64.

Liberty @ Dream: The Dream shoot well, but turnovers ruin the chance of an upset win. New York 93, Atlanta 85.

Fever @ Silver Stars: This time, Becky Hammon is held to only 10 points by a tough Indiana D. Indiana 76, San Antonio 64.

Mercury @ Storm: This game will be decided in the fourth quarter by a Phoenix run. Phoenix 84, Seattle 80.

Shock @ Sparks: Great play by Detroit's bench sends the Sparks to another unwanted home court loss. Detroit 78, Los Angeles 74.

(Jambi is 12-7 this year, for a 63.1 percent W/L prediction accuracy. Jambi lives in his box at http://nationalsportsrankings.com. Give it a visit.)

Preparing for Tonight's Game

Things I'm bringing to the Sky/Dream game tonight:

Myself. That goes without saying.

Cash. I intend to buy a $25 seat and pay, hopefully, about $10-$15 for parking somewhere near Philips Arena. That makes about $40. Maybe $50 if we include soda and pie.

Instructions on how to get there. Hand written. I don't know that part of Atlanta very well.

My phone. I hope to call my wife during the game.

A digital camera. This will be used to take all sorts of (hopefully) interesting pictures.

A fact sheet x 10. This sheet will have the basic facts on all of the players from the Dream and Sky - number, name, position, height, weight, school, age, years in the league, points, rebounds, assists and efficiency. Extra facts are included at the bottom, pretty much "local color". Nine extra sheets in case someone else needs them.

From what I've read on blogs all across America, the WNBA is notorious for not providing programs. Therefore, I made my own, both for myself and for other fans.

Time to bring back Jambi the Genie for his predictions....

Lynx @ Sun: The Lynx prove that yes, they're for real and remain undefeated. Lynx 68, Sun 64.
Comets @ Liberty: The Comets, fresh off their first win, do it again. Comets 78, Liberty 74.
Sky @ Dream: The Dream's offense is finally coming together, but not enough against a Sky team that took LA to overtime. Atlanta remains winless. Sky 98, Dream 86.
Mystics @ Silver Stars: Sophia Young leads the Silver Stars to remain undefeated at home -- she won't be denied. Silver Stars 67, Mystics 62.
Shock @ Monarchs: The Shock edge the Monarchs, shooting over 50 percent. Shock 68, Monarchs 62.
Mercury @ Sparks: The Mercury make a run at an upset, but can't overcome LA at home. Sparks 85, Mercury 77.

You can't stop him! You can only hope to contain him!

Lynx @ Dream - The Dream have another sub-40 percent day shooting from the field. Lynx 85, Dream 71.
Storm @ Liberty - An ugly game with a lot of turnovers and a lot of fouling. The visitors prevail. Storm 58, Liberty 47.
Sparks @ Sky - The visitors struggle with the road trips and the Sky put in their toughest effort of 2008. Sky 86, Sparks 75.
Silver Stars @ Comets - The visiting Silver Stars squeak by home team Houston with three pointers in the fourth quarter. Silver Stars 75, Comets 72.
Mystics @ Mercury - Diana Taurasi makes a critical basket with two seconds left on the clock. Mercury 78, Mystics 77.
