Marynell Meadors and the Dispersal Draft

Here is a statement from Marynell Meadors regarding the Dispersal Draft on Monday.

"I am very saddened by the fact that one of the original teams is not going to participate next year," said Dream General Manager & Head Coach Marynell Meadors. "From our perspective, the dynamics of our team can really change with this dispersal draft. It certainly makes Atlanta get better in a hurry."

It looks like Meadors is definitely thinking about that draft. (Psst: LYTTLE)

I'm really surprised that article didn't mention that Meadors was the coach of the (dearly departed) Charlotte Sting in the inaugural season. It would certainly be relevant, both pointing up the resonance of another team going down and showing that she would have some sort of emotional connection to the Comets, even if it was "*&^%*&ing Comets kicked my ass all the damn time!" (Which they didn't. Come to think of it, it was a Comets-Sting game that set the league's record for attendance in the first season.)
