Betty Lennox Waived by Atlanta Dream

Update: It's official: Betty Lennox has been waived by the Atlanta Dream. The initial post below remains unaltered. Betty, best of luck in wherever you go.

Rumor has it at the WNBA message board places that Betty Lennox might be waived by the Atlanta Dream organization. She's a cored player, but she can be waived if she's not signed to a contract by mid-February. Was 2008 the last Atlanta will see of Betty Lennox?

It's no secret that Betty Lennox and Dream head coach Marynell Meadors did not see eye to eye on a number of issues. If Betty leaves the Dream...well, how many teams has B-Money been on? This would only add more fuel to speculation that Betty is a Milo - a great player, but an emotionally troubled one.

I guess we'll know the answer to this one soon - we'll either hear it over the waiver wire, or not.

You know, Donna Orender is showing up at the Mohegan Sun today for some "major news" - which I expect is the announcement that the WNBA All-Star Game will be held at Connecticut's home court. But, you know, it could be "Betty Lennox has just signed with the Connecticut Sun".

My guess is that the "milo" is gone. With the new 11 player limit and Dream stacking up on Teasley, Holdsclaw, Lyttle, and rumored Snow plus Izie, Young, Latta, etc. and a top pick like Angel....I think they have enough offense to let Betty go! Betty's scoring on teams with more than one option (most other years she has played) was much lower and there has to be a reson she has been on so many teams that we dont fully see (the milo factor)

this is nuts I hope not too many more big changes are made or we might have a whole new team. We just waived our best player who gave so much heart to us on the court. I dont know how I feel about this to be honest. Coach meadors makes sparatic moves sometimes and you dont know where she is headed. Who is our starting line up now?

Bad chemistry = bye bye. First poster gave a pretty damn good potential lineup for the Dream. This is a playoff team next year now that they fixed their chemistry problem.

milo effect is no joke...

Eurobasket says Betty is playing for Russia.

Yup. I think she's still playing for Nadezhda Orenburg. What's surprising is that I've heard no rumors about her hooking up with any other WNBA team.
